Being a Woman of Excellence – Week 1
Biblical view of Excellence: The Greek word translated “excellent” in the NT comes from the word diaphero, which means “transport” or “differ.” In addition to “excellent,” Scripture translations also use the words “best,” “vital,” “the better things,” or “the highest and best” when talking about excellence. The Hebrew word translated “excel” in Proverbs 31:29 is ‘alah, which means “to ascend.” Things that define excellence:

Stated by Jesus himself: to be like the teacher - Luke 6:40 A DISCIPLE IS "ONE WHO ABIDES IN JESUS' WORDS" - John 8:31 To be a disciple of Jesus Christ/ Yeshua HaMashiach (in Hebrew) means more than just being a congregation/church member. It requires commitment. Commitment to the studying and applying the teachings of Christ; Loving the true family of God, and bearing fruit for God’s glory. Homework: Read the book of Ruth and write down what you think makes Ruth a woman of excellence. |
